BUDGET DEAL INCLUDES MORE THAN $1 BILLION IN TAX CREDITS SUPPORTED BY NWRA
Tax Credits Extended for One Year as Part of Temporary Spending Bill

Arlington, VA – Early this morning the House and the Senate agreed on legislation to fund the federal government through March 23, 2018 so that Congress can enact a full-year omnibus appropriations measure for Fiscal Year 2018. The budget deal includes a one-year extension of more than $1 billion in tax credits favored by the National Waste and Recycling Association.

The tax credits include, $555 million over ten years for the alternative fuel tax credit, $542 million over ten years for the energy property tax credit, and $67 million over ten years for the clean vehicles tax credit.

“We applaud Congress for including the tax extenders package as part of this budget deal,” said National Waste and Recycling President and CEO Darrell Smith. “Passage of this legislation gives our members needed certainty in these areas so they can grow and expand their businesses. We look forward to working with Congress to ensure these credits are renewed next year.”
