NWRA URGES CONGRESS TO MAKE INFRASTRUCTURE INVESTMENT OF $1 TRILLION
Association Joins Infrastructure Working Group on Letter to Congressional Leaders

(Arlington, VA) Today, the National Waste and Recycling Association (NWRA) joined with a broad collection of associations in a letter urging Congress to make infrastructure a top priority. Among the recommendations is the direct investment of $1 trillion over ten years to improve the safety and efficiency of our nation’s infrastructure.

“NWRA is proud to support the Infrastructure Working Group (IWG) and its call for Congress to seek a bipartisan solution to our infrastructure needs. I believe a robust investment in our infrastructure will make our roads and bridges safer, reduce transportation costs, and make us more competitive globally,” said Darrell Smith, NWRA President and CEO.

Recommendations in the letter from IWG urge Congress to improve the permitting process, encourage participation between the public and private sectors, and strengthen tools that make it easier to invest in infrastructure projects at the federal, state, and local levels.
