EPA RELEASES NATIONAL FRAMEWORK FOR ADVANCING RECYCLING SYSTEM

Arlington, VA – The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) released its National Framework for Advancing the US Recycling System. It is a product of a collaborative effort among stakeholders including the National Waste and Recycling Association that started on America Recycles Day 2018.

“The National Waste and Recycling Association (NWRA) is proud to support the work of the EPA to improve the national recycling system. We were among the 45 signatories who pledged last year to work together to identify actions to take to address the challenges and opportunities facing the US recycling system and we continue to do so,” said NWRA President and CEO Darrell Smith.

While the benefits of recycling are clear, growing and strengthening the U.S. recycling system to support domestic industries and enhance environmental and community benefits will require collaboration with stakeholders. Through the pledge, organizations like NWRA, committed to leveraging their collective expertise, strengths, and resources to build a more resilient national recycling system.
