Businesses that manufacture equipment and technology to be used in waste/recycling collection and processing.
Affiliate participation is available to individual public sector officials in the United States and Canada who manage waste collection, recycling or disposal operations, or related programs.
Build Your Network
NWRA hosts dozens of events nationwide each year providing members with opportunities to network with new clients and customers and help your business thrive. NWRA events include chapter meetings, golf outings, regional meetings and national events. Sponsorship opportunities are also available to NWRA members to further promote your business and expand your reach across the industry.
NWRA Councils and Committees offer members the ability to focus on specific areas of interest within the industry. NWRA’s Chairman's Council, Future Industry Leadership Alliance, Healthcare Waste Institute, Landfill Institute, Recycling Committee, and Women's Council are all highly active organizations and open to all NWRA members.

NWRA is the leading voice at the federal, state, and local levels on legislative and regulatory issues, working to improve the business climate for our industry and progressively make our industry safer, smarter and stronger. NWRA and its chapters work with government officials to educate them on NWRA members' priorities. NWRA also participates in legal cases in federal and state courts affecting members, and the waste and recycling industry as a whole.
Hours of Service ELD Exemption
The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) has granted a rare Hours of Service exemption exclusively to NWRA members that eliminates the need for them to use ELDs as otherwise is required under the new rule effective Dec. 17, 2019. NWRA will provide an updated list of its members to FMCSA on an annual basis as proof of exemption from enforcement for those companies. NWRA will also send electronic certificates of membership each year to its member companies for them to print out and carry in their vehicle fleets.

NWRA offers an extensive library of instructional videos and training material on a variety of industry safety issues. As a member, you’ll receive Safety Monday and have access to our safety seminars held in cities across the United States.

The Waste Industry Marketplace is a free program that promotes and encourages NWRA members to do business with other members, delivering a new level of value by directly connecting member businesses with special offers and promotions from other NWRA member companies.
The NWRA Export Expansion Program provides its member companies with the tools and resources required to access new and increase existing overseas markets for their recyclables, equipment, and services. NEEP assists its member companies’ efforts to navigate the complexities of federal agencies governing trade as well as provide opportunities to participate in trade missions.
