A native of Northwest Pennsylvania (and an avid Steelers fan), Megan Passinger began her career in marketing at the Grocery Manufacturers Association (GMA). After 8 years in the marketing arena, Megan moved into the meeting and education planning role, and joined NWRA as the Director of Education in 2016. Megan’s primary role is to coordinate and plan educational activities throughout the year, including webinars, certifications, NWRA events, and educational sessions at WasteExpo.
She is also the staff lead for the Education Committee and unofficial “President” of the NWRA Events Committee. Megan received her BA in Communications, with a concentration in Journalism from Mercyhurst University, where she wrote for the college newspaper, was treasurer of the National Broadcast Society, and hosted a live, local cable television talk show. Megan enjoys spending time with friends and family, experiencing the local nightlife, traveling, and no longer living in the snowbelt.
