Mallory Szczepanski is the Director of Writing and Publications with the National Waste & Recycling Association (NWRA). Szczepanski has worked as a journalist since 2011, covering industries such as waste and recycling, architecture and design and food and beverage.
Before joining NWRA, she was the editorial director at Waste360, a leading industry publication. In that role, she led all editorial efforts for the publication as well as WasteExpo, North America’s largest solid waste, recycling and organics industry event. She also covered all aspects of the industry in her reporting and created Women Leaders in Waste, a monthly series sponsored by the NWRA Women’s Council that highlights the work of women in the waste and recycling industry.
In addition to her role as Director of Writing and Publications, Szczepanski helps oversee the Future Industry Leaders Alliance (FILA), which provides education, networking and mentoring to future leaders to prepare them for executive advancement and professional leadership in the waste and recycling industry.
Szczepanski holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Columbia College Chicago and spends her spare time training Muay Thai, dancing, reading and working on her first thriller novel.
