January 17:
North Carolina members are closely engaged with Gov. Roy Cooper’s Executive Order 271, issued in October, which calls for North Carolina to join California and six other states in adopting what is called Advanced Clean Truck rules, or ACT rules. The rules would order manufacturers to meet sales targets for electric trucks and buses to help the state cut the pollution that causes global warming. Members are gathering internal input to share with state officials at the February public hearing meetings scheduled for January 25th, February 1st, and February 25th.
The Carolinas chapter will host its next meeting on March 8th in Columbia, South Carolina. During this meeting, the Chapter will kick off the 2023 Legislation, discuss 25th Annual Golf Outing items and discuss Mid-Atlantic conference planning.
