The NWRA Women’s Council scholarships are offered to NWRA member company employees and their dependents who wish to use their education for a career in the waste and recycling industry. Eligible candidates may be male or female, a part-time or returning school student, a trade or community college applicant or a student for a university/college. The NWRA Women’s Council scholarships are ONLY open to NWRA member company employees and their dependents. An applicant must create an account and password to access and complete the application. The application remains active until the submission deadline, May 21, 2021. You may update your application until the deadline. Announcements will be made prior to WasteExpo, which will be held in June 2021.

Instructions:

  1. Follow this link to apply for the 2021-2022 Women’s Council Scholarship
  2. Navigate to the top right and click “login.”
  3. You must create an account.
  4. If you have an account and do not remember your password, reset by clicking “forgot your password?” and check your email. Follow steps 1 and 2.
  5. Navigate to the top right and click “member profile.”
  6. You should see “personal snapshot.”
  7. To start a new application, navigate to the top menu bar and click “awards.”
  8. Scroll down the awards list to “2021 Women’s Council Scholarship” and click on “add nomination.”
  9. To revisit your pending application, scroll down on the left side and click “my current nomination.”
  10. Be sure to save your application.

Some items to include:

  • Your connection with and contact information for an NWRA member company employee is needed.
  • A headshot in .jpg format is required.
  • An essay is required. Maximum 1,000 words. Introduce yourself and explain your personal experiences or other factors influencing your interest in pursuing a career in the waste and recycling industry.
  • Transcripts can be uploaded. For employees of NWRA companies returning to school or continuing their education, a transcript waiver can be selected.
  • Letters of recommendations are encouraged and strongly recommended from your employer if applicable.
