NWRA Accepting Applications for 2024 Driver of the Year and Operator of the Year Awards

Arlington, VA – The National Waste & Recycling Association (NWRA) is accepting applications for its Driver of the Year and Operator of the Year awards. Those selected for these prestigious honors will be recognized during NWRA’s Awards Breakfast on Tuesday, May 7 at WasteExpo 2024 in Las Vegas.

“We have many talented men and women in our industry who drive our collection vehicles and operate our heavy equipment,” stated Interim NWRA President and CEO Jim Riley. “Our judges have the challenging task of reviewing the top applications from the best of the best that the waste and recycling industry offers.”

The Driver of the Year awards honor member drivers who operate their trucks in a safe and responsible manner, have outstanding performance records and whose contributions have enhanced the overall safety and image of the solid waste industry.

The Operator of the Year award recognizes heavy equipment operators working in post-collection operations including landfills, materials recovery facilities and transfer stations.
