NWRA Announces Dates for the 2026 Northeast Invitational Event

Arlington, VA – The National Waste & Recycling Association (NWRA) is pleased to announce the dates for the 2026 Northeast Invitational, taking place Aug. 24–25, 2026 in Hampden, Massachusetts. Following the success of its inaugural year, the event will once again convene industry professionals for two days of engagement, education, and networking in a collegial regional setting.

The first Northeast Invitational, held in October 2025, brought together NWRA members from across the region for a program that combined relationship-building, policy discussion, and friendly competition. Attendees enjoyed a private evening reception at Sonny’s Place, a legislative briefing the following morning, and a golf tournament at GreatHorse Resort, where suppliers hosted contests and activities throughout the course.

“The response we saw this year made it clear that our members truly appreciate having a regional event of their own,” said Faith Zydowsky, Sierra Container Group; co-chair of the NWRA Suppliers Board of Governors Membership Committee; and co-chair of the Northeast Invitational Planning Committee. “The Northeast Invitational offered a great opportunity to connect, learn from one another, and strengthen relationships across the industry.”

Suppliers also praised the event for its meaningful engagement and visibility. “The Invitational creates a unique environment where suppliers and members can interact in a more targeted and productive way,” said Zach Martin, BTR, and chair of the NWRA Suppliers Board of Governors. “Those conversations help us better understand member needs and strengthen the partnerships that drive our industry forward.”

Planning is already underway to build on the strong foundation established in 2025. “We are committed to growing the Northeast Invitational into a premier annual gathering for our region,” Martin Mattsson, Volvo Construction Equipment North America, Inc.; vice chair of the NWRA Suppliers Board of Governors; and co-chair of the Northeast Invitational Planning Committee. “Our team is exploring opportunities to enhance the program while preserving the elements that made the inaugural event such a success.”

NWRA is also pleased to continue its partnerships with USA Hauling and Recycling and GreatHorse, both of which will again play key roles in hosting the 2026 event. Frank M. Antonacci, Chief Operating Officer, USA Hauling and Recycling, said, “We were proud to support the inaugural Invitational, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back for another great event in 2026.” Guy Antonacci, President GreatHorse, added, “It was a pleasure to host NWRA’s first Invitational, and we look forward to having the tournament return to GreatHorse in 2026.”

The 2026 Northeast Invitational will include a private networking event at Sonny’s Place, followed by a full day of programming featuring a legislative briefing, the golf tournament at GreatHorse with supplier-hosted contests and engagement opportunities, and an evening reception.

Additional details, including registration and sponsorship information, will be released in the coming months.
