NWRA Celebrates America Recycles Day
Calls on Consumers to Help Reduce Contamination
Arlington, VA – The National Waste & Recycling Association (NWRA) issued the following statement from NWRA President and CEO Darrell Smith on America Recycles Day.
“America Recycles Day reminds us that it is up to us to protect the environment, and we can begin by recycling paper, plastic and glass smartly. Recycling contamination is a serious problem. Approximately 25 percent of the recycle bin is items that cannot be recycled. On this America Recycles Day, we urge everyone to recycle right as our member companies work hard to educate their customers on what belongs in the bin.”
More information about reducing contamination in the recycling stream can be found on our website.
