NWRA Now Accepting 2026 Hall of Fame Nominations
Arlington, VA – The National Waste & Recycling Association (NWRA) is now accepting nominations for its Hall of Fame Class of 2026.
The Hall of Fame is the Association’s highest honor, recognizing industry leaders whose vision, values, and contributions have made a lasting impact. Candidates are considered based on their inspirational leadership, service to NWRA and the industry, and a legacy of at least 25 years of contributions. The Class of 2026 will join more than 200 inductees from 1986–2025 who have helped shape and advance the waste and recycling industry.
“The Hall of Fame is a celebration of the people whose leadership and dedication have built the waste and recycling industry into what it is today,” said Michael E. Hoffman, NWRA president and CEO. “Each year, we are proud to honor those whose contributions have left a lasting legacy and continue to inspire the next generation of leaders. I look forward to welcoming the Class of 2026 and recognizing their achievements at our Annual Awards Gala.”
Beginning this year, an individual may submit only one letter of recommendation for one candidate in a given year. Multiple letters from the same person for different candidates will not be accepted. Previously submitted nomination packets must be updated to comply with this requirement.
Applications must be submitted online through NWRA’s Hall of Fame Online Application Form.
Completed applications are due December 1, 2025. The Hall of Fame Committee will review nominations in December and present its recommendations to the NWRA Board of Trustees at the January 20, 2026, board meeting.

The Class of 2026 will be formally recognized at NWRA’s Annual Awards Gala during the Waste Leadership Summit on June 10, 2026 in Washington, D.C.
