NWRA’s Safety Monday Reminds Waste Collection Drivers to “Give Yourself a Brake”

Arlington, VA—This week’s Safety Monday, presented by Republic Services, Inc., reminds waste collection drivers to leave plenty of room between their vehicles and the traffic in front of them.

“We urge drivers to mind the distance between them and the vehicles around them,” said Kirk Sander, NWRA chief of staff and vice president, safety and standards. “The rule of thumb is a minimum of four seconds of stopping distance between you and the car in front of you.”
