NWRA’s Women’s Council will Award $30,000 in Scholarships and Host Art Show at WasteExpo

Arlington, VA – The National Waste & Recycling Association’s (NWRA) Women’s Council will be busy at the WasteExpo 2018 conference in Las Vegas. The Women’s Council has expanded its scholarship program and will award four individuals with $7,500 toward their higher education tuition. Since 2007, the Women’s Council has awarded $142,500 to 36 scholars.

The scholarships are limited to employees and dependents of NWRA member companies who wish to pursue a career in the solid waste and recycling industry.

The Women’s Council will also host the “Carts on Display” art competition. Entrants must decorate their cart with artwork that promotes environmentalism and/or represents the 50-year anniversary of WasteExpo theme, “Rockin’ it Since 1968.”

Entrants may supply their own carts or a cart will be provided to them by SSI Schaefer Systems.
