NWRA’s Changaris Serves as Featured Panelist on Leading Conference About Waste in the Northeast
Arlington, VA – Steve Changaris, Northeast Region vice president for the National Waste & Recycling Association (NWRA), was the featured panelist at the Eighth Annual New England Talking Trash Conference held virtually. The conference focused on waste issues and trends for Northeast states and industry stakeholders. Disposal capacity, construction and demolition developments and recycling were all highly discussed topics.
Changaris, in his remarks, focused on bottle bill expansions, extended producer responsibility for traditional recyclables as well as how environmental justice and diversity, equity and inclusivity issues will likely impact industry operations in the months and years ahead.
“Conferences like this are an opportunity for us to engage with policymakers and leading experts on issues affecting the waste and recycling industry,” said NWRA President and CEO Darrell Smith. “Few have the deep understanding like Steve of how these issues affect our industry in the Northeast.”
