NWRA Reminds Collection Workers to Stay Hydrated

Arlington, VA – This week’s Safety Monday, presented by Waste Connections, reminds waste collection workers to drink plenty of water and stay hydrated to avoid heat illness.

“As the weather gets warmer, it is important to stay hydrated, take breaks in the shade and recognize symptoms of heat illness,” said Kirk Sander, chief of staff and vice president of safety and standards for the National Waste & Recycling Association (NWRA).

“We are pleased to provide this industry-renowned safety resource to anyone who requests it,” said NWRA President and CEO Darrell Smith. “You do not need to be a member of NWRA to receive it.”
