NWRA Celebrates America Recycles Day
Arlington, VA – The National Waste & Recycling Association (NWRA) issued the following statement from NWRA President and CEO Darrell Smith on America Recycles Day:
“On this America Recycles Day, and as we approach the holiday shopping season, it is important we remember to properly dispose of lithium batteries. They should not be placed in the recycle bin. Instead, they should be taken to hardware stores and other locations with the resources to manage them safely.”
More information about the dangers of lithium batteries and how to properly dispose of them can be found here and here.
