NWRA’s Safety Monday Reminds Waste Collection Workers to Walk Like a Penguin to Reduce Chance of Slips and Falls
Arlington, VA – The National Waste & Recycling Association (NWRA) Safety Monday for this week, presented by Waste Management, reminds waste collection workers to walk like a penguin to avoid slips and falls when walking in unsafe conditions.
“Many parts of the country have experienced inclement weather,” said Kirk Sander, chief of staff and vice president of safety and standards for NWRA. “It is important our workers take their time and walk carefully to avoid slips and falls.”
“We are pleased to provide this industry-renowned safety resource to anyone who requests it,” said NWRA President and CEO Darrell Smith. “You do not need to be a member of NWRA to receive it.”
