NWRA’s Safety Monday Reminds Waste Collection Workers to Remove Hazards to Prevent Injuries from Slips, Trips and Falls

Arlington, VA – The National Waste & Recycling Association (NWRA) Safety Monday for this week, presented by Waste Management, reminds waste collection workers to remove hazards when they see them to prevent slips, trips and falls.

“Poor walking surfaces are the No. 1 contributor to workplace slips and trips,” said Kirk Sander, chief of staff and vice president of safety and standards for NWRA. “It is important our workers watch where they walk and report any problems they see.”

“We are pleased to provide this industry-renowned safety resource to anyone who requests it,” said NWRA President and CEO Darrell Smith. “You do not need to be a member of NWRA to receive it.”
