NWRA’s New York City Chapter Requests an Extension to RFP for Commercial Waste Zones
Arlington, VA – The New York City chapter of the National Waste & Recycling Association (NWRA) requested a 30-day extension to Part II of the request for proposals (RFP) for commercial waste zones (CWZ) from the City of New York Department of Sanitation (DSNY). The chapter urged more time for DSNY to work with its haulers on the implementation of the program.
“The process has lost the collaboration that existed more during the conceptual stage of the CWZ program,” said Lew Dubuque, vice president of chapter management at NWRA. “We propose a 30-day delay and the creation of a working group of all stakeholders to address the remaining issues.”
DSNY has released several addendums to the RFP, which often require additional information for the RFP. Haulers need more time to collect the requested information and properly respond to the addendums.
