NWRA Wins Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum Transparency Awards from Candid (formerly Guidestar)
Arlington, VA – The National Waste & Recycling Association (NWRA) was recognized with Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum awards for its transparency project from Candid (formerly Guidestar). Awards are earned in order starting with Bronze.
Each category has its own requirements. The Bronze category requires information about the organization’s mission, subject area and target population. The Silver category requires information about an organization’s programs, who it serves and the geographic area served. The Gold award requires certain financial information and demographic information about the organization’s leadership. The Platinum award requires the organization to share its strategic plan, progress and results.
“We thank Candid for these awards and recognizing our efforts at transparency,” said NWRA President and CEO Darrell Smith. “Our values include honesty, transparency and accountability, and we are proud that we go far beyond the legal requirements when it comes to being open about our operations.”
Candid is a nonprofit organization that provides the most comprehensive data and insights about the social sector. Candid was formed in 2019 when GuideStar and Foundation Center merged. Candid combined GuideStar’s tools on nonprofits and Foundation Center’s tools on foundations with new resources to offer more comprehensive, real-time information about the social sector.
