NWRA Safety Monday Reminds Waste Collection Drivers to Avoid Inadequate Surveillance While Driving
Arlington, VA – This week’s Safety Monday, presented by Republic Services, offers important reminders to waste collection drivers to ensure they use their mirrors properly.
“Inadequate surveillance occurs when the driver is in a situation where he or she is required to look to safely complete a maneuver and either fails to look in the appropriate place or looks but does not see,” said Kirk Sander, chief of staff and vice president of safety and standards for the National Waste & Recycling Association (NWRA).
“We are pleased to provide this industry-renowned safety resource to anyone who requests it,” said NWRA President and CEO Darrell Smith. “You do not need to be a member of NWRA to receive it.”
