NWRA Files Comments with EPA on Proposed Changes to the Agency’s GHG Reporting Rule
Arlington, VA – The National Waste & Recycling Association (NWRA) filed comments with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) on its proposed amendments to the Greenhouse Gas Reporting Rule. The EPA aims to improve the quality and consistency of the data collected and other updates to certain provisions.
“We appreciate the opportunity to comment and provide the perspective of the waste and recycling industry,” said NWRA President and CEO Darrell Smith. “We look forward to working with them throughout the rulemaking process.”
In its comments, NWRA recommended the EPA should revise the degradable organic carbon values for bulk and modified bulk municipal solid waste options. Among its other recommendations, NWRA urged the EPA not to include any new reporting requirements.
