NWRA Redesigns Weekly Message
Arlington, VA – The National Waste & Recycling Association (NWRA) redesigned its weekly safety message, Safety Monday. The redesign comes because NWRA’s Safety Committee realized key perspectives from the people who work in the industry every day were missing. In the revised version, which is published every Monday by NWRA and shared with the entire industry, messages will be initiated with assistance from drivers, supervisors, safety professionals and our members’ executive suites. This shows NWRA’s commitment to building a stronger safety culture throughout the industry inspired by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s Safe + Sound campaign.
“I recognized the need to have a broader perspective with Safety Monday, and I compliment the leadership of the Safety Committee on finding a way to engage more waste and recycling industry employees,” said NWRA President and CEO Darrell Smith. “This shows that NWRA is the leader in safety for the industry.”
