NWRA Safety Monday Reminds Waste Collection Workers to Avoid “Holiday Heart”
Arlington, VA – This week’s Safety Monday, presented by GFL Environmental, reminds waste collection workers to avoid “Holiday Heart.”
“Holiday Heart refers to the effects of stress from too much alcohol, too much salt and sugar and too much caffeine, which result in higher blood pressure on the heart,” said Kirk Sander, chief of staff and vice president of safety and standards for the National Waste & Recycling Association (NWRA).
“We are pleased to provide this industry-renowned safety resource to anyone who requests it,” said NWRA President and CEO Darrell Smith. “You do not need to be a member of NWRA to receive it.”
