NWRA to Host First-ever Golf Classic at WasteExpo
Arlington, VA – The National Waste & Recycling Association (NWRA) will host the inaugural NWRA WasteExpo Golf Classic on Sunday, April 30 at 9 a.m. CT ahead of the start of WasteExpo 2023, North America’s largest trade show and conference serving the waste and recycling industry.
“We are pleased to open up this new tournament to anyone attending WasteExpo to play golf and network with their peers in the waste and recycling industry before the show begins,” said NWRA President and CEO Darrell Smith. “While several of our chapters hold annual golf outings, this is the first time that we have hosted one at the industry’s single-largest gathering.”
The tournament will take place at the historic Bayou Oaks at City Park, New Orleans’s premier golf course that originally opened in 1902. The course and facilities, designed by renowned golf course architect Rees Jones, have undergone a full restoration following Hurricane Katrina.
Golf check-in, breakfast and Bloody Mary bar will begin at 7 a.m. CT, and the tournament will tee-off at 9 a.m. CT with a shotgun start. There will be a lunch reception and awards presentation following the golf tournament.
