NWRA Safety Monday Reminds Waste Collection Workers to Avoid Heat-related Illnesses
Arlington, VA – This week’s Safety Monday, presented by GFL Environmental, reminds waste collection workers to remember the importance of water, rest and shade when working in the heat and humidity.
“Heat-related illnesses are avoidable with water, rest and shade,” said Kirk Sander, chief of staff and vice president of safety and standards for the National Waste & Recycling Association (NWRA).
“We are pleased to provide this industry-renowned safety resource to anyone who requests it,” said NWRA President and CEO Darrell Smith. “You do not need to be a member of NWRA to receive it.”
