NWRA Encourages Former Yellow Corporation Employees to Consider Waste and Recycling Industry
Arlington, VA – The National Waste & Recycling Association (NWRA) announced an effort to attract former employees of Yellow Corporation to the waste and recycling industry. Earlier this month, Yellow Corporation ceased operations, leaving tens of thousands of men and women without jobs.
“It is always unfortunate when a company closes its doors. Many of these hardworking men and women have the skills and experience to be successful in our industry,” said NWRA Interim President and CEO Jim Riley. “We encourage them to strongly consider the benefits of working for a member company.”
NWRA is preparing a jobs portal to provide these former Yellow employees with a central location to access vacancies in our industry. Driving for the industry offers numerous advantages such as rising wages, a five-day workweek, set daily work schedules and being able to return home at the end of each day’s shift.
