National Waste & Recycling Association Announces Fall Safety Standards Meeting

Arlington, VA – The National Waste & Recycling Association (NWRA) Standards Committee Z245 on Equipment Technology and Operations for Wastes and Recyclable Materials will convene October 28-30 in New York to discuss critical updates to safety standards within the recycling and waste industry.

The meeting will focus on essential topics including advancements in vehicle propulsion systems, improvements to safety protocols for lockout/tagout procedures in facilities and finalizing the draft for the uncontrolled public access compactor standard. This gathering will help ensure industry standards keep pace with the evolving technology and safety needs of the sector.

NWRA continues to serve as the secretariat for the ANS Z245 Committee on Equipment Technology and Operations for Wastes and Recyclable Materials. Industry professionals, including those interested in joining committees, are encouraged to participate in the ongoing development of these crucial standards.
