COVID-19: Focus on Work Practices
The National Waste & Recycling Association is continuing its series of webinars focused on the COVID-19 pandemic. On March, 30 at 2 p.m. ET, we will be joined by David E. Malter, CIH, CSP, ROH, CPEA, president of Malter Associates, Inc., to discuss COVID-19 Work Practices!
Malter has been a health and safety professional for more than 40 years. He has served as a compliance officer for the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), as an industrial hygienist for the U.S. Department of Energy, as the industrial hygiene manager for the Santa Fe Railway Company and as the director of health, safety and transportation for Waste Management, Inc. He is a certified industrial hygienist, certified safety professional, registered occupational hygienist and certified professional environmental auditor in health and safety. Malter has served as president of the Chicago and North Texas sections of the American Industrial Hygiene Association, as chairman of the Environmental Industries Association Safety Committee and has participated in the American National Standards Z245 Committees for Waste and Recycling Equipment and Facilities since 1992. He has been involved with the development and implementation of management systems for safety and health for a wide variety of waste/hauling/recycling/landfill, manufacturing, distribution and service operations. He has also assisted many companies with resolution of OSHA compliance citations and third-party liability issues relating to health and safety. He is the current chair of the American National Standards Committee Z245.8 on Landfill Safety.
