Have you ever wondered how a company gets evaluated and deals are made in private equity transactions? Have you or your company been solicited by private equity firms or, conversely, received deals to evaluate from private equity firms? Maybe you have participated in a few deals yourself? Regardless of your experience, here is your chance to learn, grow and compete with your peers!
The National Waste & Recycling Association’s (NWRA) Future Industry Leaders Alliance (FILA) is excited to deliver to its members an MBA-like case study of a model private equity firm seeking to exit a portfolio company in our industry, presented and facilitated by Michael E. Hoffman and John M. McNamara, managing directors at Stifel.
This is the second of three planned deal-making events facilitated by Stifel and, like the first, will prove to be intellectually stimulating and rewarding. Participants will be assigned to teams of six or more to learn how to conduct valuation analysis of the options that private equity can explore when exiting a portfolio position. The teams will be strategic advisors who will evaluate the exit alternatives and make the best case for why they should be engaged to execute the proposal. The judges will be leading private equity firms that have a current investment or have been invested in our industry.

This event will be co-located with NWRA’s Industry Conference, which takes place January 24-26.
REGISTRATION
$200/participant
To participate in Deal Me In 2.0, you must be a current member of the National Waste & Recycling Association, with early access to registration for FILA and Women’s Council members.
As you register, you will be asked a series of questions, such as “What is your level of financial acumen?” and “How much experience have you had with M&A, private or public equity transactions?” Your answers will assist in balancing out the competing teams.
