Mid-Atlantic Conference Canceled Due to Impacts of Hurricane Helene

Arlington, VA – The National Waste & Recycling Association (NWRA), in collaboration with state chapter leadership from Virginia and the Carolinas, has announced the cancellation of the upcoming Mid-Atlantic Conference due to the impacts of Hurricane Helene. The conference was scheduled to take place in Hot Springs, VA on October 1 and 2.

As essential service providers, NWRA members are playing a crucial role in disaster response and recovery efforts, working on the ground in communities across the affected areas. Their work is critical to ensuring the cleanup and restoration of these regions in the wake of the storm.

“We recognize the importance of this event, but the safety and well-being of our members and the communities they serve is our top priority,” said Michael E. Hoffman, president and CEO of NWRA. “Our members will continue to focus on supporting disaster response efforts as Hurricane Helene’s impact is assessed.”

NWRA will continue to monitor the situation closely and will provide further updates regarding future events or rescheduling plans as conditions evolve.
