NWRA and EREF Release Poster Encouraging COVID Vaccinations

Arlington, VA –  The National Waste & Recycling Association (NWRA) and the Environmental Research & Education Foundation (EREF) released a poster today encouraging waste collection workers to get vaccinated against COVID-19 and the Delta variant. On August 23, 2021, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine for individuals 16 years and older.

NWRA has consistently sought to encourage everyone eligible for a vaccine to get one. Most recently, NWRA asked cities and counties to encourage or require municipal workers to get the vaccine. Earlier this month, NWRA encouraged the industry to get the vaccine and announced that it would require all employees to be vaccinated against COVID-19.

This poster is a product of the partnership between NWRA and EREF. In June, NWRA and EREF signed a memorandum of understanding, which formalizes the existing relationship between the organizations and expands opportunities for additional collaboration.
