NWRA Announces MOU With EREF

Agreement Formalizes Existing Partnership and Expands Opportunities for Collaboration

Arlington, VA –  The National Waste & Recycling Association (NWRA) announced it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Environmental Research & Education Foundation (EREF). The MOU formalizes the existing relationship between the organizations and expands opportunities for additional collaboration. The MOU was signed at the conclusion of WasteExpo with both staffs present.

“I am pleased that NWRA has formalized its partnership with EREF through the MOU. EREF has a long history of providing the waste and recycling industry with needed data and research that supports NWRA’s world-class, award-winning advocacy program,” said NWRA President and CEO Darrell Smith.

“While EREF has worked substantially with NWRA previously, this MOU opens up new opportunities for EREF and NWRA to further disseminate solid waste research. We look forward to continued collaboration through the Equipment Statistics Program and other educational and research-related initiatives,” said EREF President and CEO Bryan Staley.

With this MOU, NWRA and EREF will continue to work together to develop and evaluate new approaches to mange municipal solid waste. They will continue to collaborate on education programming and safety programming as well as other activities aimed at developing more sustainable waste management practices.
