NWRA Announces New 2023 Driver of the Year Application Process

Process Aimed at Increasing Pool of Applicants

Arlington, VA – The National Waste & Recycling Association (NWRA) announced an updated application process for the 2023 Driver of the Year awards. The goal is to enable companies to recognize their drivers while raising the bar in the selection process.

“The waste and recycling industry has many talented drivers,” said NWRA President and CEO Darrell Smith. “We expect our judges will have a more difficult task as they review the best of the best applications under the new application regime, but the effort is worth it.”

National and mid-sized companies may submit applications for up to 3% of their fleet. Local and public sector companies may submit as many applications as desired. Public sector entities will have a new fee structure to encourage more competition.

The application window will be open at the end of November.
