NWRA Applauds NSC for Supporting Employer Vaccine Requirements

Arlington, VA –  The National Waste & Recycling Association (NWRA) applauds the National Safety Council (NSC) as it calls on employers to require employee COVID-19 vaccinations. On August 23, 2021, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine for individuals 16 years and older.

“Just as NWRA has encouraged the private waste and recycling industry to get vaccinated, we stand with the NSC in its support for employers to require vaccinations of its employees,” said NWRA President and CEO Darrell Smith. “With the full approval of the Pfizer vaccine, we strongly encourage everyone eligible for a vaccine to get one.”

NWRA and the NSC have partnered to improve workplace safety in the waste and recycling industry.
