NWRA Board of Trustees Approves New Members
Lisa Disbrow Will Be the First Woman to Serve as a Trustee
Arlington, VA – The Board of Trustees of the National Waste & Recycling Association (NWRA) approved four new members and alternates to the board including Lisa Disbrow of Waste Management, the first woman to serve as a trustee.
“Lisa has a wealth of knowledge and experience in the waste and recycling industry. At a time when we are trying to encourage more women to join the industry, I am proud to have Lisa on the board,” said NWRA President and CEO Darrell Smith.
Robert Lee, Ecotech Waste Logistics, was approved as the alternate representative for the Services Board of Governors to the Board of Trustees. Don Ross, McLaughlin Family Companies, was approved as the representative of the Suppliers Board of Governors to the Board of Trustees and Chris Hawn, Machinex Technologies, was approved as the alternate representative of the Suppliers Board of Governors to the Board of Trustees.
Disbrow was also recently elected chair of the Services Board of Governors, the first woman to serve in that role.
“Lisa is a tremendous asset to the Association and industry. She is a strong advocate for the waste and recycling industry and I know that will continue as she serves on the Board of Trustees. I welcome our new members and alternates to the board. The diversity of our board helps make NWRA a stronger advocate for the waste and recycling industry,” said Ben Harvey, president of E.L. Harvey and Sons and chair of the NWRA Board of Trustees.
