NWRA Calls on Congress to Support Tax Incentives for Carbon Management Solutions
Arlington, VA – The National Waste & Recycling Association (NWRA) joined other organizations on a letter to Congressional leaders urging support for a bipartisan package of carbon management policies. The letter is focused on strengthening the 45Q tax credits and providing financial resources for carbon dioxide transportation and storage networks as well as a carbon capture pilot program.
“As Congress continues its work on an infrastructure package, we urge its leaders to support these bipartisan policies designed to increase and expand the 45Q carbon capture credit to help reduce greenhouse gas emissions,” said NWRA President and CEO Darrell Smith.
Carbon management technologies are central to achieving emissions reductions goals. Studies also show that investment in this technology has the potential to create tens of thousands of jobs and spur economic growth, stimulating regional economies.
