NWRA Celebrates 50th Anniversary of Earth Day

Association Staff Honor the Men and Women of the Waste and Recycling Industry

Arlington, VA – The National Waste & Recycling Association (NWRA) released a staff photo collage honoring the men and women employed in the waste and recycling industry to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Earth Day.

“During this unprecedented global health crisis, waste and recycling collection workers remain on the job; they are vital,” said NWRA President and CEO Darrell Smith. “We know from history that without reliable waste collection, illness and disease can spread. We thank the men and women who work hard every day—not just on Earth Day—to protect the public health and our environment.”

NWRA staff, working remotely during this crisis, were individually photographed spelling out the message to the industry of “NWRA staff working for you. We are here! Stay strong!!! Stay safe!”
