NWRA Celebrates America Recycles Day

Arlington, VA – The National Waste & Recycling Association (NWRA) issued the following statement from NWRA President and CEO Darrell Smith on America Recycles Day:

“On this America Recycles Day, and as we approach the holiday shopping season, it is important we remember to properly dispose of recyclable items. Items such as rope, garden hoses and needles should not be placed in the recycle bin. Bottles and jars made of plastic and glass should be rinsed and dried to avoid contamination. We appreciate that consumers want to recycle, but we urge them to check locally with any questions about recycling in their area.”

The National Waste & Recycling Association (NWRA) represents the private sector waste and recycling services industry. Association members conduct business in all 50 states and include companies that manage waste, recycling and medical waste, equipment manufacturers and distributors, and various other service providers.
