NWRA Commends Rep. Shuster for His Years of Leadership

Association Looks Forward to Working with Shuster on Infrastructure Legislation

Arlington, VA – Earlier this week, Congressman Bill Shuster (R-PA) announced that he would not seek re-election to the House of Representatives.

“I thought it was the best decision for me to focus 100 percent on my final year as the chairman of the Transportation Committee, working with the president and other Democrats and Republicans to pass an infrastructure bill, which is much needed to rebuild America,” said Shuster.

Today, the National Waste & Recycling Association (NWRA) issued a statement thanking Congressman Shuster for his years of leadership in the House of Representatives on the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee.

“On behalf of our members in the 9th Congressional District of Pennsylvania and in the other 49 states, I say thank you Congressman Shuster for your years of dedicated service to your constituents and the country. We agree that our country needs significant investments in our infrastructure and look forward to working with you and your colleagues to find a bipartisan solution that makes our country safer, stronger and more competitive,” said Darrell Smith, NWRA president and CEO.

NWRA is a signatory to a letter from the Infrastructure Working Group urging Congressional leaders to make infrastructure a top legislative priority this year.
