NWRA Hosts Brazilian Delegation and Signs MOU with SELURB
Agreement’s Goal to Improve Cooperation and Coordination and Support in Areas of Mutual Interest
Arlington, VA – Following a week of events hosted by the National Waste & Recycling Association (NWRA), Darrell Smith, president and CEO of NWRA, and Marcio Matheus, president of the Brazilian National Union of Waste Management Companies (SELURB), signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the two organizations. The purpose of the MOU is to promote cooperation between the waste and recycling industries in Brazil and the United States.
“It has been a great pleasure to spend time this week with representatives of the waste and recycling industry in Brazil. I believe we have learned a lot from each other, and I look forward to a stronger and productive relationship. The MOU formalizes the increased cooperation and coordination between the two organizations,” said Smith.
The delegation from Brazil represented several waste and recycling companies from the country as well as other industry experts.
