NWRA Marks the Beginning of National Safety Month

Arlington, VA – This week’s Safety Monday, presented by Rumpke Waste & Recycling, celebrates the beginning of National Safety Month by reminding waste collection workers to take responsibility for their safety.

“The National Safety Council has declared June to be National Safety Month,” said Kirk Sander, chief of staff and vice president of safety and standards for the National Waste & Recycling Association (NWRA). “We want waste collection workers to understand that they can prevent incidents before they occur.”

“We are pleased to provide this industry-renowned safety resource to anyone who requests it,” said NWRA President and CEO Darrell Smith. “You do not need to be a member of NWRA to receive it.”
