NWRA Safety Monday Reminds Waste Collection Drivers that Kids are Everywhere
Arlington, VA – This week’s Safety Monday, presented by Republic Services, reminds waste collection drivers that not all children ride school buses. Many children walk or bike to school.
“It is estimated that more than half of school children do not ride the bus to school,” said Kirk Sander, chief of staff and vice president of safety and standards for the National Waste & Recycling Association (NWRA). “It is important to watch for children and watch for areas where children may gather.”
“We are pleased to provide this industry-renowned safety resource to anyone who requests it,” said NWRA President and CEO Darrell Smith. “You do not need to be a member of NWRA to receive it.”
