NWRA Safety Monday Reminds Waste Collection Drivers to Be Safe Behind the Wheel

Arlington, VA – This week’s Safety Monday, presented by Mazza Recycling, reminds waste collection drivers to drive safely.

“The most common causes of roadway fatalities are drowsy driving, road rage and not wearing a seatbelt,” said Kirk Sander, chief of staff and vice president of safety and standards for the National Waste & Recycling Association (NWRA). “Each of these is preventable, and we encourage our drivers to be safe behind the wheel.”

“We are pleased to provide this industry-renowned safety resource to anyone who requests it,” said NWRA President and CEO Darrell Smith. “You do not need to be a member of NWRA to receive it.”
