NWRA Safety Monday Reminds Waste Collection Drivers to Follow the Smith System to Avoid Road Hazards

Arlington, VA – This week’s Safety Monday, presented by Interstate Waste Services, reminds waste collection drivers to use the 5 Keys of the Smith System to detect and react to hazards on the road.

“Impaired and distracted driving incidents continue to rise in the country,” said Kirk Sander, NWRA chief of staff and vice president of safety and standards. “Utilizing defensive driving tactics will help keep our frontline employees safe each day.”
