NWRA Safety Monday Reminds Waste Collection Workers to be Safe During the Holiday Weekend

Arlington, VA – This week’s Safety Monday, presented by WM, reminds waste collection workers to have a safe holiday.

“As we mark the start of summer with Memorial Day and honor those who lost their lives in service to our country, we urge waste collection workers to be safe, don’t drink and drive and don’t drive drowsy,” said Kirk Sander, chief of staff and vice president of safety and standards for the National Waste & Recycling Association (NWRA).

“We are pleased to provide this industry-renowned safety resource to anyone who requests it,” said NWRA President and CEO Darrell Smith. “You do not need to be a member of NWRA to receive it.”
