NWRA Safety Monday Reminds Waste Collection Workers to Tryout after LOTO

Arlington, VA – This week’s Safety Monday, presented by GFL Environmental, reminds waste collection workers to follow all lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures, which means confirming all energy sources are isolated and LOTO devices are securely in place.

“Many workers remember lockout/tagout but don’t remember the third step, tryout,” said Kirk Sander, chief of staff and vice president of safety and standards for the National Waste & Recycling Association (NWRA).

“We are pleased to provide this industry-renowned safety resource to anyone who requests it,” said NWRA President and CEO Darrell Smith. “You do not need to be a member of NWRA to receive it.”
