NWRA Safety Monday Reminds Waste Collection Workers to Watch for Signs of Cold Stress

Arlington, VA – This week’s Safety Monday, presented by Rumpke Waste & Recycling, reminds waste collection workers to watch for signs and symptoms of frostbite and hypothermia.

“Winter storms create a higher risk of car accidents, hypothermia, frostbite and heart attacks from over-exertion,” said Kirk Sander, NWRA chief of staff and vice president, safety and standards. “It is important that our workers recognize the signs of cold stress.”
