NWRA Women’s Council Awards $50,000 in Scholarships in Celebration of its 20th Anniversary

Generous Contributions from NWRA Members and Fundraising Activities Make Scholarships Possible 

Arlington, VA – Today, the National Waste & Recycling Association (NWRA) Women’s Council proudly announced its 10 scholarship recipients for 2023:

Faseeh Irfan – Waste Connections of Canada
Brittany Kilebrew – WM
Brianna Langley – Waste Connections

Kristen Parisea – Casella Waste Systems
Emma South – Waste Connections
Elaine Wagener – Casella Waste Systems

In 2007, the NWRA Women’s Council established an educational scholarship program to assist qualified individuals in pursuing an education that will lead to productive careers in the waste and recycling industry. All NWRA member company employees and their dependents are eligible to apply.

“We are thrilled to celebrate the NWRA Women’s Council 20th anniversary by giving away $50,000 in scholarships,” said Tammy Holtzman, chair of the Women’s Council Scholarship Committee and district manager at Waste Connections of Canada. “This year’s pool of candidates was exceptional, and this year’s class of scholars are wonderful examples of those dedicated to our industry.”
